The interior is created through a fabric combing process, where the inner fibers are lifted and "fluffed" to create a soft and comfortable feel. This process has two main effects:

- It weakens the surface fibers, which initially causes the release of microfibers and lint.

- It creates a softer but more delicate layer compared to the compact structure of French terry.

Because of this, brushed interior garments tend to shed lint at first, especially when worn over dark-colored clothing or if they haven't been washed before the first wear. After a few washes, the excess fibers produced during manufacturing are reduced, making the fabric more stable.
